AMENDMENT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF OLEAN, TRAFFIC, SECTION 24-173, PARKING DURING SNOWFALLS
RESOLVED, that Article IV, Division 2, Section 24-173, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Olean, New York is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 24-173. Parking during snowfalls.

(a) It shall be the duty of the Department of Public Works to erect and maintain within the City accurate measuring device(s) to measure the precipitation of snow within the City. If the precipitation of snow reaches four inches as measured by City Personnel at said measuring device during any twenty-four hour interval, or lesser period of time, parking upon the streets of the City shall be limited and regulated during the following calendar day beginning that night at midnight. Parking shall be limited as set forth hereinbelow.

(b) Primary Streets shall be designated as follows: North and South Union; East and West State;

(c) Sub-primary Streets shall be designated as follows: Alder from Seneca to Spring; Buffalo; Clark; Clinton N. & S.; Constitution; Delaware from Union to Barry; Elm E. & W.; Euclid, Fifteenth; First S. from State to Irving; First N.; Forest; Fourth N. (200 & 300 blocks); Fourth S. (200 block); Fourth N. from Wayne north; Franchot Blvd (east of Union); Franklin; Front; Genesee; Green W.; Hamilton; Henley W.; Higgins; Highland Terrace; Homer; Indiana Ave.; Irving; Johnson; King; Laurens; Madison; Main; Nineteenth S.; Oregon; Oviatt (east of Main); Pine; Prospect; Queen; Reed from Third to Thirteenth; River; Seneca; Seventh; South; Spring E.; Spruce; Stardust; Sullivan W. from Union to 15th; Sunrise from Stardust to Van Buren; Terrace; Third N. (300 block); Twelfth; Twenty-first; Twenty-fourth; Times Square; Union St. N Extension; Van Buren; Washington; Wayne; York.

(d) Secondary Streets shall be designated as all streets other than those identified in paragraph (b) and (c) above.

(e) Rule for Primary & Sub-primary Streets: Whenever four inches or more of snow has accumulated in any twenty-four hour interval, as provided for in paragraph (a) above, parking of motor vehicles on Primary Streets shall be prohibited on the next calendar day between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and Sub-primary shall be prohibited between midnight and 7:00 a.m.

(f) Rule for Secondary Streets: Whenever four inches or more of snow has accumulated in any twenty-four hour interval, as provided for in paragraph (a) above, parking of motor vehicles on Secondary Streets shall be prohibited on the next calendar day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

(g) Penalties: A violation of this Ordinance may result in the issuance of a parking ticket and/or the towing and impoundment of the vehicle according to Sec. 24-61 through Sec. 24-83 of this Code.
RESOLVED, this resolution will be effective immediately.
