Mayor Carucci prepares to do battle with Police Chief Terry Schnell in the Rally in the Valley Big Wheel Adult Race.
New this year, the Rally presented the first “BB” Big Wheel Adult Race, one of three new games. Modeled after races out in California and one just recently held in Cleveland, OH, the Rally will had racers ride on Big Wheels (yep, those plastic ones from back in the day) down the slight incline at the stadium and slalom through three cones. Gus Macker Opening Ceremonies (8/14/2008)

Carucci resides at the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Gus Macker
Tournament in Olean, NY.
The city had 237 three-member teams compete in its first Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Nearly 1,000 players took to courts on Delaware Avenue and North Barry Street and in the Olean Center Mall parking lot for the event. Local Gus Macker organizers said more than 5,000 people attended the event.
Cattaraugus County Bicentennial Wagon Train Through Olean(8/11/2008)

started Aug. 9 in Ellicottville, the original county seat, and has
meandered the roads between more than 20 communities, with one stop for
lunch and a combined dinner-breakfast stop each day. Picture

Olean Again Designated a Tree-Friendly City (4/23/2008)

Elks Club Honors Olean's Best (4/7/2008)

Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday with a Good Read (3/8/2008)
Mayor David Carucci reads Green Eggs and Ham to
students at East View Elementary School Friday afternoon. The event was
part of the school's celebration to mark the birthday of author Theodore
Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss was born in 1904
and wrote children's books and a number of books for adults, too. He
would have been 104 on Sunday.
George Washington Marker Gets
Rededicated in Olean (6/27/2007)
The Olean Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution rededicated the George Washington marker in Monument Park at the corner of South Union Street and East Riverside Drive Tuesday. Attending the ceremony were, from left, Cora Dean Simon, past regent of the Olean DAR Chapter; Irene Marks Rupp, District 8 director of the New York State DAR; T. K. Simon, President of the Olean DAR Chapter; Assemblyman Joseph Giglio and Olean City Mayor David Carucci The marker (shown in the inset photo) was moved last year from Oak Hill Park.
Kids Kick In to Aid Hurricane Victims (2/6/2006)

for victims of Hurricane Katrina to Olean Mayor David Carucci. Mayor
Carucci gave the check to the American Red Cross. Students of Bruyer's
Martial arts held sold candy in January to raise the money. Shown with

Honors Olean High Basketball Team
Olean Huskies Basketball coach Jeff Anastasia (left) accepts a special proclamation from Mayor David Carucci Tuesday honoring the Huskies for the 25-3 season and for making history at the New York State Class B Public School Tournament. Mayor Carucci presented each member of the team with a certificate of achievement. The team and coaching staff received a standing ovation from the Common Council and those attending Tuesday's council meeting.
