Ambulance Calls: Number of times the ambulance responds on a call

Ambulance Assists: Whenever the engine is dispatched on a call with the ambulance, it is considered an ambulance assist.

Structure Fires: House, garages, sheds, porches

Automatic/False Alarms: Whenever all units are dispatched and no fire is found, or someone accidentally or intentionally set off the alarm. (Also False Malicious, False Malfunction, and False Unintentional)

Other Fires: When something other than a building is on fire. (Open burn complaints, brush fires (grass, trees), vehicle fires, refuse fires)

Service Calls: These are non-emergency calls. In the event the ambulance doesn’t transport a patient or an engine company responds to investigate any of the following… smoke odors, lift assists. Good Intent calls also fall here. Rescue calls are also included. (elevator rescues)

MVA’s (Motor vehicle accidents): If a fire truck responds with an ambulance and ambulance assist is also filled out as well as this column. This is filled out if an just an ambulance responds and/or if just an engine responds as well.

PR/Standby’s: Any special events that are held in Olean whenever a unit is sent to standby (Ex. Football games) Public Relations deals with Fire Prevention Week at local schools.

Volunteer Assists: When we assist the Town of Olean Fire Department with an ambulance or ANY volunteer fire department comes in to assist us with a call (Ex. Structure Fires, ambulance calls, standby’s)

Haz-Mat: We use this for Cardon Monoxide detector activation, gas spills, oil spills, natural gas leaks.
