Summer Concert Series Returns to Lincoln Park

May 18, 2021—Olean— William J. Aiello, Mayor of the City of Olean, is pleased to announce that the summer concert series will return to Lincoln Park starting Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. The nineteen concerts provide a variety of music genres that will appeal to all residents of Olean. The concerts will be held every Thursday until September 2. Sunday afternoon concerts are scheduled for June 13, July 11, August 8, August 22, and September 5 and will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm.

“The City of Olean is pleased that the Covid-19 restrictions have eased and we can resume this very popular series,” said Mayor Aiello. “The Youth and Recreation Department, coordinated by Kris Shewairy, has worked very hard to keep residents engaged during the pandemic. The department has followed all required Covid-19 advisories and has managed to keep the Senior and Youth Centers open. In addition throughout the season the ice rink at the William O. Smith Center was open; as restrictions eased, the staff quickly realigned to allow for more residents to use the facility. The department also posted a number of videos to the City’s YouTube station to keep homebound adults and children engaged.”

“But nothing can replace the enjoyment of a concert in the park. And after a one year hiatus it will be wonderful to see our residents gathering in Lincoln Park to hear the sounds of local musicians,” Mayor Aiello added. “I hope many residents take advantage of the series.”
